| CITRON NOT LEMON. The french word for lemon is indeed citron, however, citron is a fairly large green fruit with a very thick solid fruit texture which is usually glazed and used in ruit cakes etc. It has a fairly mild flavour. citron, small evergreen tree (Citrus medica) of the ORANGE family, and its fruit, the first of the CITRUS FRUITS introduced to Europe from E Asia. Citrons are grown in the mediterranean, West Indies, Florida, and California.
